In the three decades since her professional debut, pianist Mariangela Vacatello has brought her virtuosity, passionate interpretations, and magnificent musicality to diverse global audiences. She is recognized worldwide as an exceptionally gifted artist, reflected in the numerous awards and effusive reviews she has received for both her live performances and recordings.
When she's not performing, she pursues her passion for teaching and, more recently, she began her tenure as Artistic Director of the historic Cantiere Internazionale d’Arte in Montepulciano (Tuscany, Italy) and is frequently invited to serve as a juror for competitions mostrly organized by the Geneva Federation.
Her concerts are an experience that goes beyond the musical aspect... She develops an extraordinary emotional tension, the result of study, but above all of her love for her profession... She seemed to be talking to his instrument, a mute dialogue between two people who know each other well and who complement each other... But she exercised artistic seduction by accompanying the music with her body and soul, thus creating a powerful emotional tension.

In January 2024, RAI5 premiered her landmark project “Ten Colors for Ten Piano Sonatas”, featuring the complete cycle of Alexander Scriabin’s piano sonatas—a unique filmed project, making Vacatello the only pianist to have recorded the entire cycle on video.
“Scriabin recordings have become increasingly commonplace, to the point where a new one is apt to pass by unnoticed, especially if the pianist is unfamiliar.
You should definitely not miss the revelatory first volume in Mariangela Vacatello’s sonata cycle. These are technically brilliant performances that, in their grasp of both large-scale structures and small details, bring back the sense of unfamiliarity that this repertoire risks losing. An unexpected hit.”
